The $1.1 million investment will improve connectivity from North Point Parkway and Georgia 400
Alpharetta, GA — January 8, 2026 — True North 400, the community improvement district (CID) serving the commercial district in North Fulton County along Georgia SR 400, recently completed the Kimball Bridge Road Corridor Multimodal Gap Connection.
The project, which included a $1.1 million investment by the CID, constructed the remaining multimodal path connection between the Kimball Bridge Road Widening project completed by the City of Alpharetta and the Georgia Department of Transportation’s bridge replacement project over GA 400 as a part of the GA 400 Express Lanes. The multimodal connection consists of an approximately 450-linear foot shared use path, separated from and parallel to the roadway.
“This connection was needed following the city and state’s completed projects to give residents, employees and visitors safe mobility options along Kimball Bridge Road. This project is exactly where True North 400 excels. We work to connect funds, resources and people to improve the North Fulton community,” said Kristin Winzeler, executive director of True North 400.
This spring, True North 400 will be working in close collaboration with SR 400 Peach Partners, MARTA and GDOT, as the official launch of the $4 billion GA 400 Express Lanes infrastructure investment gets underway. True North 400 will not only act as communications support to ensure its members are informed of project developments, but the CID also will work to advance conceptual designs and preliminary engineering for first and last mile connectivity to the future Express Lane Transit (ELT) system, after receiving $2 million at the end of 2025 to fund the transit gap. The work will help unlock long-term opportunities for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), improve mobility and enhance regional competitiveness.
