Today, however, we also ask if our public schools are supporting the skills needed for the workforce. Through offering multiple pathways to career training, partnerships with local businesses, demanding academic programs and flexible learning opportunities, Fulton County Schools has become one of the most important drivers of workforce development and economic growth in North Fulton.
College preparation remains an important measure, and one that Fulton County Schools (FCS) takes seriously. Every year, our students earn admission to outstanding colleges and universities across Georgia and throughout the nation. They excel in Advanced Placement courses, dual enrollment programs and rigorous academic pathways that prepare them for future success.
Strong schools have always been one of North Fulton's competitive advantages. Partnerships with local businesses, higher education institutions and industry leaders help students connect classroom learning with future careers.
Innovation is also taking place throughout our traditional schools. At Johns Creek High School, students have opportunities to explore artificial intelligence and emerging technologies that are increasingly shaping the future workplace. At Cambridge High School, students participate in a growing agricultural science program that combines modern technology, environmental stewardship and hands-on learning. At Roswell High School, SkillsUSA programs and industry partnerships provide students with hands on training in construction and the skilled trades, preparing many for immediate employment after graduation. These programs challenge outdated assumptions about career preparation and expose students to opportunities they may never have considered.
Our commitment to student success also includes flexibility. Through Fulton Virtual and the Fulton Academy of Virtual Excellence (F.A.V.E.), students can access courses that expand learning opportunities beyond the traditional school day and school building. Whether pursuing advanced coursework, exploring a specialized interest, or seeking a learning environment that better fits their needs, students have opportunities not limited by geography or schedule.
The impact extends well beyond our classrooms. Every student who develops the skills to succeed in college, the workforce or entrepreneurship strengthens our region’s long-term economic vitality. When businesses evaluate where to invest, expand or relocate, they look closely at the quality of the local talent pipeline and labor force.
