By Kristin Winzeler, Executive Director
Following the announcement of Brandon Beach’s appointment to U.S. Treasurer, I was thrilled to learn that I would become True North 400’s next executive director. After more than a decade with the Community Improvement District — starting as a project assistant and most recently serving as deputy executive director — this moment feels both surreal and deeply rewarding. I will continue building on the legacy of my predecessor, whose leadership, along with our board of directors, helped shape the vibrant, connected North Fulton we know today.
After celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2023 with a new name, brand and logo, True North 400 is in a defining period of growth and change. With leadership changes, expanding boundaries and the largest infrastructure investment ever made in the state of Georgia for northbound express lanes on the SR 400 corridor, the need for partnership, collaboration, communication and community will continue to be vital. As a respected partner, with significant funding capabilities and a willingness to collaborate, True North 400 has an important role to play in the future of North Fulton.
The projects I’ve been a part of over the years have given me a deep understanding of what it takes to plan, fund and execute successful infrastructure improvements. But more importantly, they’ve reaffirmed the power of collaboration and community-focused planning. The next several years will be defined by
True North 400’s ability to partner, communicate and continue to build meaningful and impactful projects showcasing our ability to do our job and do it well.
While I believe much has been accomplished, there is still much to do. With major developments likely on the horizon in Alpharetta and Roswell, not to mention the SR 400 express lanes and Bus Rapid Transit’s imminent arrival, it is more important than ever that True North 400 use its voice to create positive, impactful and necessary change. True North 400 is an organization that our partners, and the larger community, can look to for guidance, information, resources and support.
With a greenway extension, new gateway park, quick wins and a new roadway in the coming future, True North 400 will continue its role as a partner and champion of needed infrastructure improvements. We will continue to plan, design and build projects that create value for the CID’s members and enhance quality of life for the community of North Fulton County, encouraging an impressively vibrant area where people want to work, live and play.
As I step into this new role, I’m energized by the opportunities ahead. I have seen the growth and progress of this region firsthand, and I can guarantee True North 400 will play a significant role in the future growth and progress we all know is coming to North Fulton. True North 400 has never been stronger—and I can’t wait to lead the next phase of success together.
