Arbor Day Celebration

February 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

All are welcome to join fellow tree-lovers the morning of February 20 at the City’s annual Arbor Day Celebration.

The festivities will begin at 10 a.m. that Friday in Bell Memorial Park, specifically in the Mark Law Arboretum section. Those entering the park from Bell Park Drive will go by the Arboretum entrance/sign, which is just past a baseball field.

In Georgia, Arbor Day takes place in late February because that’s during (albeit near the end of) prime tree-planting season in this part of the country. The annual highlight of Milton’s Arbor Day event is planting trees on City facilities, and the 2026 edition is no exception. In fact, three types of trees — a Sweetbay Magnolia, Smoketree, and Witchhazel tree — will be planted, bringing new life around where now-deceased trees once stood. Citizens can join City officials in finishing off these plantings.

The February 20 event also will feature complimentary morning snacks and warm coffee. And, once again, tree seedlings will be distributed free-of-charge to citizens will supplies last. This year, those will be Persimmons — a tree native to the Southeast that produces edible fruit and is green in the spring and summer before turning yellow in the fall.

No RSVPs are necessary. Just come to Bell Memorial Park on February 20 if you can!
